Students for Sensible Drug Policy Ireland

A new group has been setup. Students for Sensible Drug Policy Ireland

SSDP Eire believes that the only way to solve the drug problem is through full regulation of all drugs. SSDP Eire does not support or condone the use of recreational drugs. However, it believes that current policies lead to unregulated products becoming, often primary, sources of income for domestic and international criminal networks, and leads to the criminalization of both problematic and non problematic users.

It is the belief of SSDP Eire that with a well thought out regulatory network, which would ensure good manufacturing practices (GMPs) users would have access to a safer product, use could be overseen and monitored, and funds currently spent on the drug war could be diverted to education and treatment
